ABOUT THE ARTIST

Encouraged by my family, I began drawing at an early age. Nature and animals, especially equines, became the subjects of my drawings. This fascination with the natural world transformed my passion for drawing into both an enduring hobby and a professional career. Today I am both an artist and educator, sharing my knowledge of techniques, materials and approaches with a new generation of artists.

ROSALIA STUDIO

My fine art business is called Rosalia Studio, inspired by my middle name and the Cerumbycid beetle I am named after. My time is split between realistic paintings of animals and nature, traditional silver worked jewelry, and teaching.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I strive to create images that evoke an emotional response from the viewer. My animal and human portraits are vibrant and lifelike, capturing the spirit and personality of my subjects. The designs in my metal work are more abstract with an emphasis on plant and insect motifs. I regularly include hidden compartments or moving parts in these pieces to instill a sense of mystery and enhance wear-ability. As a teacher I hope to inspire others to be creative and appreciate the beauty of the natural world. I hope you enjoy my work and please contact me for more information.
